Corridor running club
http://www.corridorrunning.com/ puts on this great race around the 3rd Saturday of every year. Today was a very cold, yet clear morning. 26 degrees with 13 m.p.h. winds. Jason and I arrived around 9:45a.m. to pick up our shirt, racing bibs and timing chips. The race would start at 11a.m. Since both Jason and I are training for a marathon in June we decided to run more miles in addition to our 5K. We ran before the race to warm up. I ran just over 3 miles and he ran over 2. I took a few pictures to remember the day.

Both of our racing bibs. |

The front of the shirt. Cute. Although
they were big and I should have ordered
a small. |

A picture of my warm up run. I usually run super slow in a 5K warm up run of around 38 minutes, so I was happy my warm up was under 34 minutes, but hoped it wouldn't make me too tired to run the race a half hour later. Total mileage for me with the race (which on my Garmin said 3.15 when I finished) and the warm up was 6.27 miles. |

A picture of Jason and I right after finishing the 5K. Jason stayed with me most of the race. I wanted him to run ahead but he was there to coach me to a faster time. Ever since my ankle injury I wasn't able to achieve a 5K under 30 minutes and I told him I really wanted to do that today. My official time was 28:40 |

Amazing muffins. They had applesauce
and dark chocolate chips in them. |

Some of the treats for us after the race. |

My official time was 28:40. I was 6th out of 16 in my age group of 40-44, a 9:14 average pace. I was 60th place out of 153 women and 177th out of 301 overall people. Jason doesn't want his stats listed here because he could have gone 3 minutes faster than he did. He held back to coach me to a faster time. Love him.
